We believe that our residential services have a key role in providing safe and effective care and taking the right action at the right time in order to keep children safe.
The safety of the children / young persons is paramount at Strive and Succeed. It is the aim of our homes to make every child feel safe and secure. All staff are clear about their role in relation to safeguarding and the best actions to take to protect any child / young person who may be at risk. Our commitment to safeguarding the children we support, educate and care for is informed by relevant legislation, statutory guidance and good practice guidance in order to fulfil our commitment to safeguard and promote the welfare of children we abide by the following values and principles:
- Provide a positive, safe and secure environment for the children / young people to be able to feel comfortable to openly discuss their thoughts and feelings.
- Continual assessment of the children / young people’s needs in order to provide appropriate care.
- Listen to and encourage the children to be involved in as many aspects of their cares.
- Provide individually tailored programs and care to expand the opportunities available for the children and young people.
- Provide an individual Support and Outcome plan that is regularly reviewed to support any changes in the needs of the child or young person
- Ensure that each young person’s well – being and health needs are properly met and monitored.
- Focus on the young person’s strengths and use that as a basis to create achievable targets to enhance their experiences and outcomes.
- Liaise with the child young person’s key professionals, and schools to provide consistency and to support the best interest of the child.
- All children regardless of age, disability sex, racial heritage, religious belief, sexual orientation or identity have the right to equal protection from all types of harm and abuse.
- Arrangements to ensure that all Strive and succeed staff undertake appropriate training to equip them to Carry out their responsibilities effectively, and keep this up to date by participating in Continuous Personal Development at regular intervals.

Appropriate Whistle-Blowing procedures and a culture that enables issues about safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children to be addressed Welcoming and encouraging proportionate and regular scrutiny (internal & external) of our practice standards.
